摘要:随着全球经济一体化的进程日益加快,相关方期望的不断提高和更新,企业只有不断加强质量管理才能应势而谋、顺势而为。质量管理不仅仅是企业独自就能够做到的,也需要供应链上各个成员的共同合作才能出色完成。卡特彼勒作为一家高空作业平台企业,为提高供应商零部件的质量,降低生产成本,将企业中供应商的质量管理作为企业发展战略的重要组成部分。本案例通过对卡特彼勒无锡工厂的供应商质量管理和战略进行了分析,对供应商质量管理流程的改进,重点探讨了对供应商的生产过程全面控制与产品动态质量管理。结果表明:卡特彼勒(无锡)通过推广一系列供应商质量改进活动,从科学的供应商选择,到针对不同绩效的供应商采取相应的管控措施,从构建与供应商的战略合作伙伴关系,到帮助供应商改善质量管控流程,从完善供应商的审核,到推广根本原因分析工具等等,不仅取得了质量绩效的大幅提高,节约了运营成本,也达成与供应商的共赢,对公司履行为客户提供更优质的产品和更低成本的承诺起到了至关重要的作用。

Caterpillar (Wuxi): The road to supplier quality management improvement


Abstract: With the accelerating integration of the global economy and the increasing and renewed expectations of stakeholders, enterprises can only respond to the situation and act in accordance with the trend by continuously strengthening quality management. Quality management is not just something that companies can do alone, but also requires the cooperation of all members of the supply chain to achieve excellence. Caterpillar, as an aerial work platform company, has made quality management of its suppliers an important part of its development strategy to improve the quality of supplier parts and reduce production costs. This case analyzes the supplier quality management and strategy of Caterpillar's Wuxi plant, improves the supplier quality management process, and focuses on the comprehensive control of the production process and dynamic product quality management for suppliers. The results show that by promoting a series of supplier quality improvement activities, from scientific supplier selection to corresponding control measures for suppliers with different performance, from building strategic partnership with suppliers to helping suppliers improve quality control processes, from improving supplier audits to promoting root cause analysis tools, Caterpillar Wuxi has not only achieved a It has not only achieved significant improvement in quality performance, saved operational costs, but also reached a win-win situation with suppliers, which plays a crucial role in fulfilling the company's commitment to provide better quality products and lower cost to customers.
